Bedford Meet The Staff

Co-site Coordinator Bruce Lightner has taught 31years and is currently teaching 7th grade math at Bedford Middle School. An Airforce veteran, Mr. Lightner is a graduate of Frostburg State University and holds a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Gannon University.

He and his wife Karen have three children, Jonathan, Nicole and Joshua. In his free time he enjoys biking, fishing and hunting.

Mr. Lightner said he's enjoying his first year as Bedford's site coordinator, because "I enjoy working with kids outside the realm of teaching mathematic and being able able to see them as individuals and not necessarily as students. I believe the After 3 program is important because it provides students with opportunities for working alongside other students who they normally wouldn't. It also provides them with a safe haven while their parents are still at work and where they can experience things not taught in school."
